His Excellency President Akufo-Addo Visits Guinea-Bissau To Strengthen Bilateral Ties

H.E. Prince Lamptey Tetteh (Ghana Consular to Guinea-Bissau and CEO of Pribet Group of Companies)  warmly welcomes His Excellency President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, Hon. Shirley Ayokor Botchwey (Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration) and other members to Guinea-Bissau upon invitation by the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, H.E. Umaru Sissoco Embalo on Sunday, May 14, 2023 to deepen bilateral relations with Ghana, especially in the areas of Education, Health, Fisheries and Culture.

H.E. Prince Lamptey Tetteh, applauded the political stability in Ghana as well as the significant socio-economic development that according to him has made Ghana a model of success in sub Saharan Africa.

H.E. Prince Lamptey Tetteh reiterated his country’s firm commitment to share with Ghana its expertise in various fields of common interest such as agriculture, energy and renewable energies, public works and technology parks. The rest are information and communication technologies, and higher education, while exploring other areas of possible cooperation.

Youth unemployment, a worrying trend in the African region also surfaced in the course of the bilateral discussions where the two  countries called for a concerted action to deal with the issue if the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals would be met. In line with the context, Hon Ayorkor Botchwey shared Ghana’s initiative of an industrialization agenda for job creation, anchored on the One-District-One-Factory (1D1F) programme, an initiative Guinea-Bissau believes is worthy of emulation.

The discussion also touched on making economic growth more inclusive, deepening intra-continental trade and preparing Africa’s workers for the jobs of the future.

The President and honoured accomplice returned to Ghana on Tuesday, 16th May 2023.
